Mark’s Tech Rescue values your privacy and is committed to transparency in how we handle your information. This policy outlines what data we collect, how it is used, and the limitations of our services — including both Tech Support and Career Rescue offerings.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum necessary information to provide our services effectively and securely:

✔ Personal Information: Name, email, and phone number (used for scheduling and communication).
✔ Service Details:
• For Tech Support: General information about your device, operating system, and technical issues.
• For Career Rescue: Details you choose to share related to your work history, resume, LinkedIn profile, job goals, and career development needs.
✔ Session Notes: A summary of troubleshooting steps, coaching guidance, or recommendations provided during our sessions
✔ Email Communications: Messages you send to us via email or contact forms may be stored as part of your client record.

🚫 What We Don’t Collect

❌ No payment details — Stripe handles all transactions securely. Other payment methods are only accepted if pre-approved in writing.
❌ No personal passwords or login credentials.
❌ No sensitive personal data such as Social Security numbers, full banking details, or protected health information.
🔒 For Career Rescue, if you choose to provide documents (e.g., resumes, job applications, or bills), you are responsible for redacting sensitive information before submission.
3. Limitation of Liability
Our Online-Only Service Model
✅ Mark’s Tech Rescue is an online-only service provider. All coaching, support, and communication are conducted virtually by phone, email, or video.
✅ In-person visits or on-site support are not part of our standard offerings.
✅ Any exception to this model (such as reviewing physical documents) is made on a limited, case-by-case basis and does not reflect a change in service scope.
✅ Clients are responsible for ensuring they have basic technical understanding and access to communication methods (e.g., booking appointments online, access to phone/email) to participate in services.

‼️ Mark’s Tech Rescue shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or financial damages resulting from the use or inability to use services provided. This includes, but is not limited to, data loss, device malfunction, business interruption, or financial loss of any kind. Services are provided as-is, with no guarantees of specific outcomes. ‼️
4. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:
✅ Schedule and conduct troubleshooting or coaching sessions.
✅ Provide follow-up support and session recaps if needed.
✅ Improve the quality of services at Mark’s Tech Rescue, including both Tech Support and Career Rescue offerings.

🔹 We NEVER sell or rent your personal data with third parties. We use secure third-party tools to manage communication, scheduling, and client records (e.g., Stripe for payments, HubSpot for client profiles, Calendly for booking etc). These platforms are used solely to deliver our services and are not permitted to use your information for any other purpose.

5. Data Security & Retention

Mark’s Tech Rescue takes reasonable precautions to protect client information, including:
✔ Secure storage of session notes.
✔ Encrypted email communications.
✔ Limiting data retention to 6-months, after which session notes are deleted unless the client requests or requires ongoing service.

🔹 Clients are responsible for ensuring their own backups before any session.

6. Scope of Services & Limitations

By using Mark’s Tech Rescue, you acknowledge that:
🔹 1. No Guaranteed Fix or Outcome:
• While we make every effort to resolve technical issues or support your job search, some problems require manufacturer intervention or involve factors outside of our control.
• For Career Rescue, we do not guarantee job placement, interviews, promotions, or specific results. Success depends on a range of individual and external factors, including your effort, qualifications, and the job market.

🔹 2. Risk Acknowledgment:

• Tech Support: Troubleshooting may involve adjusting settings, installing or removing software, or performing resets that could affect device performance.
• Career Rescue: Career support may involve editing personal materials (e.g., resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles) or providing strategic advice. Clients are responsible for reviewing all materials before submission and making final decisions about job applications or professional representation.
• Mark’s Tech Rescue is not responsible for data loss, formatting issues, software corruption, or unintended outcomes resulting from changes made during sessions.
• Clients should back up all relevant files, including device data and career documents, before any session.
🔹 3. What We DO & DON’T Support:

✅ Supported Services:
• Tech Support: Software troubleshooting, device setup, app guidance, performance optimization, and general tech education.
• Career Rescue: Resume review or creation, job application guidance, interview preparation, LinkedIn feedback, and career clarity coaching.

❌ Not Supported:
• Physical device repairs, hardware replacements, security bypassing, hacking, or services requiring manufacturer intervention.
• Writing job applications on your behalf, impersonating clients, providing legal employment advice, or services outside the scope of coaching and document feedback.

7. Refund & Cancellation Policy

✔ Consultation Fees: Consultation fees are non-refundable as they cover time spent evaluating your issue. However, if an issue is out of scope, you may receive a credit toward a future consultation at our discretion.
✔ Service Refunds: If a service is booked and must be canceled or rescheduled, please provide at least 8 hours’ notice. All sales are final. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of Mark’s Tech Rescue. Booking a session does not guarantee a resolution, and fees compensate for time and expertise provided.
✔ Missed Appointments: No-shows without prior notice are non-refundable.

8. Manufacturer & Third-Party Disclaimer

Mark’s Tech Rescue is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified with Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, or any device manufacturers.

✔ If a problem is determined to be hardware-related, we will refer you to the appropriate manufacturer or service provider.
✔ Any warranties, repairs, or replacements must be handled directly through the manufacturer.

9. Your Rights & Choices

You may request:
✔ A copy of your session notes for reference.
✔ Deletion of your stored information if you no longer wish for us to retain it.

10. Career Rescue Disclaimer

💼 Career Rescue services are designed to provide guidance, education, and support throughout your job search and professional development. However, Mark’s Tech Rescue makes no guarantees regarding specific outcomes such as job placement, interview offers, promotions, or salary increases.

📉 While every effort is made to offer accurate and personalized advice, success depends on many factors outside our control — including the job market, employer decisions, your personal effort, and qualifications.

🧭 Clients are responsible for their own decisions and actions based on the support provided. Mark’s Tech Rescue is not liable for missed opportunities, application outcomes, or hiring decisions made by third-party organizations.

🚫 By using Career Rescue services, you acknowledge that results will vary, and that Mark’s Tech Rescue is not acting as an employment agency, recruiter, or legal advisor.

🔹 Use of AI Tools

Mark’s Tech Rescue may use AI tools to assist with resume creation, career planning, and content suggestions. All AI-generated outputs are reviewed and customized by Mark before being shared with you.

Sensitive personal data is never entered into AI platforms. You maintain full control over final materials.
11. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”), to analyze how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics collects information such as:
• Your IP address (anonymized if required by law)
• The pages you visit and time spent on our site
